We went to raise our VOICE in front of the Los Angeles Turkish Consulate! We gathered to protest the tragedy of Ugur Kurt’s killing in front of the consulate, demand that the murderers of all the Gezi martyrs be brought to justice, and call for the resignation of the parliament. On Thursday, May 22, Ugur Kurt (30) was shot with a live bullet by the police while waiting at a funeral in the Okmeydanı Cemevi, and despite undergoing surgery, he lost his life. The whole world was outraged by this violence! OUR TOLERANCE HAD RUN OUT!
THE GOVERNMENT AND PARLIAMENT HAD TO RESIGN! THE GOVERNMENT AND POLICE IN TURKEY CONTINUED TO KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE! AMERiKA PiR SULTAN ABDAL CULTURE ASSOCIATION “ENOUGH OF INJUSTICE AND INHUMANITY! On Sunday, May 25, we took to the streets at Union Square, Manhattan at 15:00! ENOUGH OF STATE TERROR! ENOUGH OF INJUSTICE AND INHUMANITY! ENOUGH OF THE KILLING OF YOUNG PEOPLE! ENOUGH OF ATTACKS ON OUR CEMEVIS! ENOUGH OF DISCRIMINATION OVER DEATHS! Mehmet Ayvalıtaş, Abdullah Cömert, Ethem Sarısülük, Medeni Yıldırım, Ali İsmail Korkmaz, Ahmet Atakan, Hasan Ferit Gedik, Berkin Elvan… NOT ENOUGH! On Thursday, Ugur Kurt was also killed by a police bullet inside the Okmeydanı Cemevi! Alevi hostility, discrimination, and hatred had extended to attacks on our Cemevis! As the AMERiKA PiR SULTAN ABDAL CULTURE ASSOCIATION, which said “ENOUGH” to this injustice and inhumanity, we took to the streets at Union Square, Manhattan on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 15:00! We invited all individuals and organizations that seek democracy and justice to join us, add their voices, and oppose state terror!
